At Happy Scribe, we value our customers and aim to provide a high-quality service. We understand that there may be instances where you may need to cancel your subscription and request a refund. Therefore, we have created a policy to ensure that the refund process is fair and straightforward.


Refund policy for subscriptions

Head to Settings & members > Billing.

Once you have canceled your subscription, you will not be charged any further fees, and your access to the service will be terminated at the end of the current billing cycle.

Refund Eligibility

Refunds for subscription fees are available to all customers within the first 7 natural days of their subscription. To be eligible for a refund, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Have canceled your subscription within the first 7 days of signing up or renewal

  • Have not violated any of our terms and conditions

  • Have not made use of the service during the subscription period

Please note that any charges for Human-made files are separate from the subscription and will not be refunded

To ensure fairness, we offer a one-time courtesy refund for missed cancellations. We kindly ask that you take responsibility for managing your subscription, as repeated requests will not be accommodated


Cancellation/Refund Policy - Monthly vs. Annual plans

  • Monthly subscription - can be cancelled anytime within the billing period to stop it auto-renewing at the end of the month. You'll still have access to the features until the end of the paid month. Can be cancelled by going to Settings & members, then Billing.

  • Annual subscription - can be cancelled within the year to stop it renewing at the end of the paid year. Will continue to have access to features until end of the paid year.
    The annual subscription is non-refundable outside of the eligibility period outlined above, the 40% discounted rate is in exchange for a minimum 1 year commitment.


Automatic transcription credit (legacy pay-as-you-go plans)

In order to exercise your right of cancellation, you must inform us of your decision by means of a clear statement. You can inform us of your decision by sending an email to support@happyscribe.com

Conditions for Returns

In order for the credit to be eligible for a return, please make sure that:

- The credit has been unused

- You have a minimum of 1h remaining


Human-made services

  • Only unclaimed files are eligible for refunds. Whilst the file is unclaimed, you can cancel it yourself by clicking on the three dots on the right side of the file and selecting 'Cancel'.

  • If the files delivered are not up to your expectations quality-wise, please rate your file to alert our team.
    We will trigger a quality investigation to determine the root causes of the issues you might have spotted. The quantity and method of refund will be determined accordingly to the results of the investigation. As part of the resolutions after the investigation, corrective and preventive actions will be shaped to avoid confirmed issues from happening again.


Refund Process

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can contact our customer support team to request a refund. We will process your refund within 5-10 business days of receiving the request, through the same payment method used for the original subscription.


Changes to Refund Policy

Happy Scribe reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes made will be effective immediately upon posting the revised policy on our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any updates or changes.
