With Happy Scribe, recording and transcribing your Zoom meetings is effortless. Simply invite Happy Scribe’s AI notetaker, and it will handle the rest: recording, transcribing, and even sharing a summary with the attendees afterward. Here’s how to get started and some tips to make the most of the tool:
Installation and Uninstallation
No (un)installation is required
Step-by-Step instructions
After logging in, find the Connections button on the left side of your dashboard.
Scroll to the bottom of the Connections page to find the On Demand Zoom Recording box.
Paste the meeting link and password (if your call is protected) into the field. Double-check that the URL is correct, as the AI notetaker will use this to join the call.
The AI notetaker will request to join your call shortly after the link is submitted. Approve its access to begin the recording.
AI notetaker will start recording, making sure all participants get notified about recording in progress.
Once the call ends, the transcription is automatically uploaded to your Meetings folder in your Happy Scribe workspace.
You will receive a summary email with highlights and essential takeaways.
❗️Please note that 'You' refers to the email address registered to your Happy Scribe account. For example, if your Happy Scribe account is registered under example@gmail.com and you send the bot to a Zoom meeting where you’re logged in as example-work@work.com, the email summary will still be sent to example@gmail.com, not example-work@work.com
Troubleshooting
Common problems users run into when using your app and how to resolve them.
If you don't receive your email immediately, wait for 2-3 minutes
In rare cases you can get "Can't schedule bot now, try later" error - try again in 15-30 seconds.
Some tips and best practises
Ensure High-Quality Audio: Good audio quality can improve the accuracy of your transcription. Remind all attendees to use a quiet space and headphones if possible.
Use the Glossary for specific terms: While the AI is thorough, adding specific terminology, such as product names, acronyms or proper names to the Glossary will help with the quality of the transcript.
Label your files: Tag each transcription with a relevant topic, project, or team name to keep files organized and easy to find and reference later.
